"The word of God is the greatest, most necessary, most important thing in Christendom. Without the external Word we would not know one spirit from another...Let the man who would hear God speak, read Holy Scripture." - Martin Luther

I Believe in God Almighty, Maker of heaven and Earth…(part 3)

The One who makes your heart to beat, eyes to blink and life to live...
In seeking to understand the Christian faith, we need to start with the knowledge of God in Jesus Christ. When this revelation touches the soul…everything else finds its rightful place in subjection to His Majesty! May you read these verses slowly and consider the magnitude of what you read!

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1.1

And the bible’s own commentary on this…

By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible. Hebrews 11.3

For thus says the One who is high and lifted up, who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: "I dwell in the high and holy place, and also with him who is of a contrite and lowly spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly, and to revive the heart of the contrite. Isaiah 57.15

Here is just a mere glimpse of the supremacy of His glory:
His deity, eternality, never-changing constancy, knowledge (which makes the Library of Congress look like a matchbox cover, all the information on the internet like a 1940’s farmer’s almanac and quantum physics like a 1st grader’s reader!)
wisdom, authority, providence, word, power, purity, trustworthiness, justice, patience, servant-like obedience, meekness, tenderness, wrath, grace mercy, love….and then some!
The majesty of Christ profoundly effects our sexuality, desires, commitments, beliefs, aspirations, dreams, attitude, convictions, habits, disciplines, solitude, relationships, labor, leisure, thinking, feeling…being…and then some…all the planets of your life are held together in orbit by the greatness and gravity of the blazing brightness of the supremacy of Jesus Christ at the center of your life and if He ceases to be at the center of your life the planets will fly into confusion and a hundred things will go out of control and sooner or later they will crash into each other unto destruction.*

LORD , I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, O LORD . Renew them in our day, in our time make them known; in wrath remember mercy. Hab3.2
