"The word of God is the greatest, most necessary, most important thing in Christendom. Without the external Word we would not know one spirit from another...Let the man who would hear God speak, read Holy Scripture." - Martin Luther

A Kiss of Life...

...righteousness and peace kiss each other. Ps 85.10 (b)
Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and you perish in the way, for his wrath is quickly kindled.
Blessed are all who take refuge in him. Ps 2.12

When was the last time you sat in church when the preacher began the sermon by reading the Bible for 7 straight minutes? 7 minutes! This is how the series on Jonah begins.
My buddy Dave turned me on to the preaching ministry of Dr. Arturo G. Azurdia III, whom he came across while at The Master's College in CA. Dave recommended that I give a listen to the series on Jonah. I did this morning...and I must recommend this to you as well. This is another of those rare jewels, wouldn't ya say, Dave? A beautiful series in Biblical, historic, redemptive, Christ-centered exposition that has come with such a unique clean edge of Law/Gospel declaration.
We are Jonah! I am Jonah. You are Jonah, and so is everyone else... except Jesus Christ! Check out this series and tell me if you hear this kind of preaching often? Have yourself a taste of preaching that is Spirit-empowered, that comes with the weight of God actually confronting you with the truth through His very own Word, the Bible.

We might be breaking that 7 minute mark... preaching straight through Exodus next.
